A race, ‘fun run’ and walk, ride will be held on August 5th, 2017 with all proceeds benefiting the Terence “TJ” Doherty Memorial Scholarship at Elder High School. Cincinnati native TJ Doherty was struck by a car on July 22nd, 2012, while riding his bike in Boulder, Colorado. He finally succumbed to his injuries on July 24.
TJ was an passionate athlete and philanthropist, competing in races around the world after being an integral part of the University of Cincinnati and Elder High School running programs. TJ also treasured his education, and was scholarly beyond his years. He was known to instigate deep philosophical discussions with anyone who would listen, or take the time to read his musings in a journal he wrote in regularly.
In the years since this tragedy, family and friends have gather to remember him in a joyous competitive spirit and raise funds for The Terence “TJ” Doherty Memorial Scholarship giving back to his alma mater, Elder High School. Our goal is to honor his passion for knowledge by fueling the future.

Run (Route) and walk start at 9:00 a.m.
Packet pickup is on Friday, July 20th from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Queen City Running West, 5819 Cheviot Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247.
Race day packet pick up is at Otto Armleder park from 7:30 – 8:30
All proceed go to the TJ Doherty Memorial Scholarship at Elder High School. TJ coveted his education and had a passion for knowledge. Our goal is to honor TJ’s memory by fueling the future.
