A ‘fun run’ and walk will be held on July 30th, with all proceeds benefiting the Terence “TJ” Doherty Memorial Scholarship at Elder High School. TJ, a Cincinnati native, was struck by a car while riding his bicycle in Boulder, Colorado on July 22, 2012. Two days later he succumbed to his injuries.

TJ was a passionate athlete and philanthropist, competing in races all around the world. He was an integral part of both the University of Cincinnati and Elder High School running programs. TJ treasured education and was scholarly beyond his years. He was known to instigate deep philosophical discussions with anyone who would listen or read musings from his journal.

In the years since this tragedy family and friends have gathered to remember him in a joyous, competitive spirit which gives back to TJ’s alma mater, Elder High School. All funds raised go directly to the Terence “TJ” Doherty Memorial Scholarship. Our goal is to honor his passion for knowledge by fueling the future.
